Developing Your Psychic Senses

Psychic ability is a natural human talent and we are all ‘psychic’ to some degree or another. It is an ability that stems from the area of awareness that goes beyond normal, everyday consciousness and the awareness that most of us label as being psychic or intuitive. The psychic sense, sometimes also called ‘The Sixth Sense’, is very much a part of our normal five senses, of sight, smell, taste, sound and touch. What the ‘psychic’ element does, is enhance and amplify those senses.

I believe the key to enhancing our psychic abilities is through raising our vibratory level. Everything around us including ourselves is made up of energy; though in varying degrees of density. It has been proven that, human beings, animals, plant life and mineral gives off an electro-magnetic field. This is the unseen, energy that we emit. The psychic vibration is of a much higher vibration then the dense energy matter of the physical earth. Those who are able to pick up, or sense that higher vibration, can interact with it. How that interaction takes place, depends on the strength of the individuals ability to feel or sense it. For example psychic ability manifests in the following ways.

The Beauty Of Meditation

It is believed, that the first known use of meditation took place at least 15,000 years ago with hunter-gatherers. Cave paintings have been found showing people lying on the ground in meditation. These people are believed to be shamans who would use meditation to achieve a trance like state; And while in this state, they would consult the spirits for help when they hunted animals for food. The earliest recorded writings about meditation occurred in India about 5,000 years ago. They appear in the Vedas, (Books of Knowledge,) which are sacred Indian scriptures.

During the 6th century BC, Hindu Prince Siddharta Gautama was happy and wealthy. Although he was happy, he learned that not everyone else was satisfied with life. One day he sat down under a tree, folded his legs and began to look deep into his mind. After seven days of meditation, he awoke with new found knowledge. He became known as Buddha. Buddha had learned how to quiet his inner thoughts and develop a strong form of concentration. Buddhism began to spread and the religion and practices of meditation eventually made its way to China and Tibet. Since this time, particularly since the 1960′s and 70′s, the practice of meditation has made its way to the west. Where this beautiful peaceful practice has gained great popularity and respect.

Psychic Sight

A lot of people believe that everyone has psychic abilities; however, a lot of people either don’t know how to develop these abilities or they are scared of doing it. There are many different forms of psychic ability from clairaudience, which is when people are able to hear messages from spirit or from their higher selves to clairvoyance, which is psychic sight. If you are clairvoyant then you probably see visions inside your head and these visions are often linked to future events.

Clairvoyance is one of those psychic abilities, though, that not everybody can develop fully and that is why some psychics call it ‘the gift’. Psychic sight is something entirely different to clairvoyance and I wanted to make sure that you didn’t get the two mixed up. Psychic sight is something that you can develop by opening your mind and practising regular meditation.

There are many reasons to meditate; some people do it to relax and forget about the stresses of their day while others do it to connect with a higher power and develop their intuition. There are some people who mistrust the whole concept of meditation because they feel opening their 3rd eye could be dangerous and allow all sorts of nasty things into their lives. This isn’t the case at all. You can choose how you meditate and if you don’t want to open your 3rd eye then you don’t have to.
