You must drop all that you think you know, for true wisdom will never come to visit you if you hold opinions and judgements about anything. False knowledge is akin to giving a child a loaded gun to play with. Unless you learn to think clearly, your mind will be led astray by every contrived thought that enters your mind.
First you must drop all that you think you know! You have gained false knowledge like many people, since you were a child. Your thoughts and opinions have been tainted by your parents, your teachers, family and friends.

Staying positive in the face of adversity can be very difficult and extremely daunting for most people. But it need not be. Particularly if you can learn to cultivate a positive attitude within yourself. How individuals deal with problems in life or cope with obstacles, very much depends on their personality. People tend to fall into two categories: Those who see life as a constant battle; where everything that can go wrong will. They believe that they are always the victim of someone elses malice, and unwilling to accept responsibility for their actions or that they might have played a part in the problems they are experiencing. Or, someone who accepts and understands that their life will go through ups and downs; And that it happens to everyone. They believe that the difficulties they face are part of the growing up process, a life lesson, that is a challenge to be met and overcome. And by doing so, they will grow stronger and wiser as individuals.
Whichever category you fall into. There is no doubt, that the roots of your attitudes and beliefs about life, that make up your personality, will almost always lie in early life. We are heavily influenced by those experiences in our formative years; and the people who had a hand in how our characters developed.

We all want to be happy. But if you were to ask people individually, what brought them happiness. Their answers would all probably differ. As happiness is very much a subjective definition. In as much as, what would be considered very important to one persons sense of well being and inner contentment. Might not be judged as, so important to someone elses. I believe the criteria we use for happiness, comes from our own personal beliefs, priorities and circumstances.
I also believe that some people find happiness elusive. Not necessarily because they have unhappy or difficult lives. But simply because they are easily dissatisfied, becoming bored with what they have; And are constantly looking for fresh stimulation. Or that they believe, other people have it ‘so much better’ then they do. While I do believe that it is important to constantly challenge ourselves.

Just as the seasons change so must you, as each new year passes, you must shed the old so as to allow new growth to come through. The tree sheds its leaves in winter, so it can be replenished with new growth, the same principle applies to the human world, friendships, jobs, relationships and a multitude of connections will cease or change continually into another form. Life like a stream should never be stagnant, it should be ever flowing and ever evolving into something new and re-vitalising.
A fresh start is a fresh chance to make your world beautiful, you must not see change as a hindrance, you may have lost your job or fell out with a loved one, but that does not mean the end of the world. It means the beginning of a new world, and why should this new world be any worse than what has gone before. Stop being the pessimist, stop expecting things to get worse, you only fulfil your own prophecy with this way of thinking. The world around you will not change for the better until you do.
