To live a contented and happy life, is something we all wish for. Yet for many, this state of being remains elusive. As difficult to hold on to, as capturing the mythical ‘Blue bird of happiness’. So why is it, that for so many people, no matter how hard they try, lasting happiness always seems so difficult to maintain?
It is said that true happiness must always come from within. And that the reason why so many people find it difficult to stay happy, is because their happiness is dependent on their circumstances, the people they interact with and their life experiences.

This timeless, witnessing awareness has been hypnotized (distracted) by a fictitious, self-centered, ‘me’ story of being born in form (the illusion of limitation and separation). It all starts with the ill-conceived idea of believing ourselves (as awareness) to be limited to the body-mind, personal experiences, beliefs, social-cultural conditioning, etc.
Once you realize and fully accept that you are not the form/content (your thoughts, moods, sensory perceptions, social roles and personal story), which are all inevitably subject to change- therefore illusory, you can finally rest as the unchanging, unconditioned awareness that you are; the natural, essential state of beingness that cannot be named, only known, through direct experience.

There was a time when humanity recognized itself as part of nature, and nature as part of itself. People would often use images of nature to express this sense of unity.
In the past shamans, priests and priestesses were the keepers of the sacred knowledge of life. They were capable of walking the threads that link the invisible and visible worlds. They helped people to remember that all trees are divine and that all animals speak to those who will listen. We can use animal imagery and other nature totem images as a way to learn about ourselves and the invisible world.

Failure isn’t a nice word. Some people fear it so much that they avoid doing anything, just so they don’t have to experience it. All of us, at one time or another, has failed at something – we are only human, after all – but, I’ll bet that you still remember every occasion where you failed in the past, and it’s likely that this has stopped you from trying again in the future.
Failing is a horrible feeling. If you didn’t receive criticism from somebody else, the chances are you gave yourself a hard time, especially if it was a project close to your heart. What you need to remember is that failure is just a means to success.
