This timeless, witnessing awareness has been hypnotized (distracted) by a fictitious, self-centered, ‘me’ story of being born in form (the illusion of limitation and separation). It all starts with the ill-conceived idea of believing ourselves (as awareness) to be limited to the body-mind, personal experiences, beliefs, social-cultural conditioning, etc.

Once you realize and fully accept that you are not the form/content (your thoughts, moods, sensory perceptions, social roles and personal story), which are all inevitably subject to change- therefore illusory, you can finally rest as the unchanging, unconditioned awareness that you are; the natural, essential state of beingness that cannot be named, only known, through direct experience.

You must drop all that you think you know, for true wisdom will never come to visit you if you hold opinions and judgements about anything. False knowledge is akin to giving a child a loaded gun to play with. Unless you learn to think clearly, your mind will be led astray by every contrived thought that enters your mind.

First you must drop all that you think you know! You have gained false knowledge like many people, since you were a child. Your thoughts and opinions have been tainted by your parents, your teachers, family and friends.

The Voyage Of Self Discovery

Cambridge’s Online Dictionary defines self discovery as “the process of learning about yourself and your beliefs”. And so it is a life long journey; one that begins the day you take your first breath.

Every day we can learn something new about ourselves through the decisions we make, reactions we have to others, and the beliefs we’ve built along the way. Often there is a catalyst which makes us want to delve deeper into the soul, discover why we behave the way we do, and what it all means.

Open Your Mind To Inspirational Thoughts

You must free your mind of all distractions, you cannot focus unless you and your mind are in the present moment. It is no good thinking about what you will have for dinner, or worrying about the argument you had earlier with the next door neighbour. Let it all go, so as you can be left alone with your own thoughts.

This may seem scary for some, as not everyone is used to spending time alone with their thoughts, many of you will have busy lives, or you may be worried that if you think too much, you will open a doorway to some hidden trauma held deep within your mind.
