Change Your Thoughts!

You must drop all that you think you know, for true wisdom will never come to visit you if you hold opinions and judgements about anything. False knowledge is akin to giving a child a loaded gun to play with. Unless you learn to think clearly, your mind will be led astray by every contrived thought that enters your mind.

First you must drop all that you think you know! You have gained false knowledge like many people, since you were a child. Your thoughts and opinions have been tainted by your parents, your teachers, family and friends.

Esoteric – Hidden Knowledge

The word ‘esoteric’ comes from the Greek word esōterikós which means ‘inner’. It dates back to the 1650′s and is also associated with ‘belonging to an inner circle’. According to Lucian, the division of teachings into exoteric (outer) and esoteric (inner) knowledge, originated with Aristotle. Hidden knowledge is sometimes called ancient knowledge. It is commonly understood though, that all religions, all myths, all beliefs, all popular heroic legends of all peoples and all countries are based on the recognition of the existence sometime and somewhere of a knowledge far superior to the knowledge which we possess or can possess, unless you belong to an organization or group of people, to whom this ‘secret’ knowledge is shared.

Examples of the idea of hidden knowledge can be found in legends and stories, such as that of the legend of the ‘Holy Grail’. The Holy Grail, the cup from which Christ drank (or the platter from which Christ ate) at the Last Supper and in which Joseph of Arimathea collected Christ’s blood, was according to a medieval legend brought to England.

Spiritual Awakening

A spiritual awakening, can happen slowly, a gradual understanding that creeps upon us. Like awaking from a long and deep sleep. Or it can happen suddenly, with such a powerful force that life seems to change in an instant. Never to be the same again. So what is a spiritual awakening? For each person the experience is unique, though similar. A contradiction I know. But it is difficult to explain it, in any other words. As human beings we are all very similar. Yet different. Our life experiences, again will be similar, for that is how we can relate to and sympathise with other people’s life stories. Yet it is as individual to us as our finger prints. No one person will feel, sense or see things in exactly the same way as someone else. And so the experience of a spiritual awakening will be the same.

To describe a spiritual awakening. I can only liken it to a all pervading sense, a knowing that there is much more to life then what we can see, feel or hear with our physical senses.
